All minerals in Smart mineralogist have five fundamental properties. These are Composition, Physical, Optical, Crystallography and Classification hence the 5 properties (In mineralogy, other properties apart from the 5 exist but are beyond the scope of this App).
The 5 properties on the Mineral details page.
To know more about these properties, you have a dedicated 'Learn Mineralogy' section for each of the 5 properties. Reading the 'Introduction' of each of the properties should give you an idea on what’s include, but this text will only serve as a help guide on how to make use of these tools.
The five properties are stacked below the summary of the 'Mineral Details' interface. Each of them is selectable and will reveal a new interface with new data specific for the property selected. Example, tapping the Optical property will cause the interface to change and bring with it a new interface displaying all optical properties (if available) of the mineral you were studying. The new property interfaces serve no other purpose apart from showing you the data you need. Also note that this data is not complete for all minerals and open for improvements.
The optical properties of the mineral Azurite.
For wide screen devices, Smart mineralogist will always display the 5 properties above the summary. Furthermore, tapping any of the 5 properties will cause them to be updated on the right side on the fragmented screen versus creating a new interface as seen on small screen devices.
