Throughout this guide, you may encounter annotations with this icon to catch your attention on App behavior that can be changed in settings.
The Settings interface does not contain any toolbar icons in all sections.

The options available are…
Toggle this option to allow the Navigation menu to be opened during first launch. When toggled, the App will auto-open the Navigation menu on every startup after the splash screen. This option is enabled by default.
Toggle this option to allow the App to open eternal web links on the built-in Google Chrome™ browser. This option is enabled by default for all devices, but as of November 2023, guaranteed support is only promised on Android 7.0 and higher, since the Chrome browser no longer supports Android versions below 7. This feature also works with the Mozilla Firefox™ browser if you have it installed and configured to be your default browser. Should you disable this option; external links will be forwarded to the default browser installed on your device.
Toggle this option to allow the App to take advantage of multi-window capabilities on Android 7.0 and higher when launching the 'Learn mineralogy' or 'Help' guides. With this option enabled, Smart mineralogist will launch the guides on a separate pane whenever you have activated multi-window mode and displacing any other app that was occupying it. This can allow you to read the guide’s content while also using the main app at the same time. Turn off this option if you do not want this behavior.
Option to choose where the App should initialize when first launched. By default, the App will initialize to your 'Favorites' window. However, you can change this behavior to two other options, which are 'History' or 'Mineral Index'. But be warned, changing this option will cause the app to restart itself as soon as you leave the settings screen. Press the 'cancel' button if you want to avoid a restart.
Smart mineralogist automatically deletes history log cards after a certain limit. This limits range from No cards to 1000 cards. However, this option allows you to modify this limit to the number of history log cards you want preserved before deletion take place. Selecting the 'No cards' option will bar the app from logging any history logs and delete your previous history.
By default, the App will prompt you for confirmation each time you are about to close it. However, if you find the prompts annoying, this toggle will disable them.
Opt to be prompted before making a favorite or history card deletion. This causes a verification prompts to appear before the removal of those cards. This option is the only way to verify your choice before committing to any deletions. These options are disabled by default.
